HAYDEN PEDIGO

Texas born guitarist, ambient musician, model and sometimes politician, Hayden Pedigo releases 'Signal Of Hope', the final single before the release of his new album The Happiest Times I Ever Ignored. Having made a name for himself primarily as a finger-style guitarist, reminiscent of talents such as John Fahey and Robbie Basho, the new record set to be a meditative collection of intricate and cinematic guitar instrumentals, the latest offering 'Signal Of Hope' is a soothing swoon of meandering guitar melodies anchored by gentle bass and distant hovering slides. Here Pedigo describes his thoughts on the track and the process of recording, “‘Signal Of Hope’ is the most British-sounding thing I’ve ever written, and I’m insanely proud of how this song turned out. I was aiming to capture the refined, clean-picking style mastered by Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, which sounds very classic to me. It’s a very technically challenging guitar piece, and it took a long time to fine tune the sound in the studio to capture the exact feeling I was hoping to convey. When it all finally came together, I felt like I got really close to making the perfect acoustic guitar instrumental.” The Happiest Times I Ever Ignored will be out this Friday the 30th of June via Mexican Summer. -Toby Evans-Jesra
